What does PAN number mean?

What is PAN number ?

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is issued by Income Tax department to a person who applies for it. PAN is a 10 digit unique alpha-numeric identity allotted to each tax payer by Income Tax Department under the supervision of Central Board of Direct Taxes.

It also serve as a identity proof. PAN is mandatory for financial transaction such as receiving taxable salary or professional fees, sale or purchase of assets above specified limits, buy mutual funds and more.

The primary objective of PAN is to use a universal identification key to track financial transaction that might have a taxable component to prevent tax evasion. The PAN number remains unaffected by change of address throughout India.

Here is what PAN card looks like:

What does the sequence in PAN number mean ?

Unlike credit cards or cheques, which have only numerical codes, PAN cards have a 10 digit alpha-numerical sequence. Let’s look into what each character of this sequence means:

  1. The first 3 Characters

Every PAN card’s first 3 characters represent an alphabetic series running from AAA to ZZZ.

    2. The 4th character

This 4th character of a PAN number represents the status of a PAN holder, which can be any of the following:

  • C- Company
  • P- Person
  • H- Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)
  • F- Firm
  • A- Association of Person (AOP)
  • T- AOP (Trust)
  • B- Body of individuals (BOI)
  • L- Local Authority
  • J- Artificial Judicial Person
  • G- Government

So, The private individuals will have 4th character as P.

   3. The 5th Character

The 5th character of a PAN number is the first letter of :

  • The surname in case the status is ‘P’.
  • or, the name of whatever Entity, Trust, Society, Organisation, HUF, etc.
  • or, In all other cases ‘A’ is the 5th character

e.g. An individual with name Navratan Lal Gupta, The PAN number will have ‘G’ as a fifth character.

   4. The 6th to 9th number

The next sequential numerals are sequentail numbers running from 0001 to 9999.

   5. The 10th character

The last character is an alphabetic check digit which is generated by applying a formula to the preceding nine letters and numbers.

PS: With the arrival of a recent Goods and Services Tax (GST), two additional characters will be added at the tail of a PAN card number which represent originating states. This was heard in a news debate.

Who don’t love to eat chocolates ? From kids to adults, everyone love chocolates. Chocolates are good for heart as well. Chocolates are most famous among love birds !!

But do you know why is this so famous among lovers ? There is a deep relation between Chocolates, Love and Mood. Lets dig into little depth.

Chocolates contain chemical compounds like Caffeine, Theobromin, Phenylethylamine, Cannabinoids and many more compounds in very small quantities. Every chemicals have their role in different ways.

1. Caffeine stimulates Central Nervous System and stimulates flow of blood in brain. This makes us active.

2. Theobromin increases the brain’s level of Serotin which is responsible for sexual arousal.      Theobromin is responsible for secretion of feel-good hormone in our body.

3. Serotin plays a major role in positive mood, emotional health, proper sleep and various physiological functions.

4. Increase in Serotin increases sexual excitement, desire and responsiveness.

5. Women have more Serotin in their system than Men. So they are more sensitive to chocolates. It provide mood-boost during menstruation. It also put women in the mood of  love.

6. Phenylethylamine(PEA) is most influential love compound. It enhances the activity of Dopamine which is directly associated with Sexual arousal and pleasure (Better next time gift her chocolates before you go on her !!!).

7. PEA also acts as an anti-depressant.

8. Cannabinoids are found in brain responsible for mind-altering. Mind-altering cannabinoids are called Anandamides derived from Sanskrit word “Anand” means bliss or happy.

9. Anandamides make us blissfull and happy.

So, Don’t forget to gift her/him Chocolates, next time you meet her/him. GOOD LUCK !!!

NOTE: Above mentioned chemical behaviors varies from person to person based on their biological structure and gene. At present lot of research are going on it, so many new results and changes in existing results may happen. Everything have pros and cons, chocolates too have.

What is Supermoon Eclipse?

On 2015, Sept. 27 Supermoon lunar eclipse had occurred in the U.S. And much of the world, but what does that mean?

This event can be referred to in many different ways:
1. Supermoon Lunar Eclipse
2. Super Blood Moon
3. Harvest Moon Eclipse
4. Supermoon Eclipse

All slightly different names, but apply to the same spectacular event that had occurred that day.

Since it’s rare that both a supermoon and an lunar eclipse occur at the same time, let’s break it down.

1) Supermoon

A supermoon is a full or new moon that falls closest to the fall equinox, and is at its closest approach to the Earth. This results in the moon appearing up to 14% larger in diameter.

2) Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly behind the Earth into its shadow. This can give the moon a red tint.

3) A Supermoon Lunar Eclipse!

The combination of these two events does not happen very often. In fact, since 1900 a supermoon lunar eclipse has only happened 5 times!

image

The last time this occurred was 1982, and if you have missed this event this year, your next opportunity won’t come until 2033.

This year, the event was visible from the Americas, Europe and Africa on the night of Sept. 27.

Imagination

I believe in the principles of imagination, because there are no boundaries on imagination and a boundary closes the door of innovations.
The great physicist Nobel prize winner Albert Einstein said, “True sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination “. He used to imagine his theories and gave “Theory of Relativity”, “Mass Energy ” and lot more.
If you can imagine the scenario you read, learn or think, you can achieve lot of things in life.
I am not an achiever yet to write these things. But yes, I believe in myself. I believe on my thoughts. And once you believe starting yourself, you have won half of the challenges right at that point.
Thank You
